![]() ![]() good thing we all had laid back personalities, and we made it work! :) More than 2 nights, and we would've been tired of being that close to one another. I believe the name of our place was The Villas 2, and we slept 4 ladies in a room with a Queen bed and a fold out couch. Our Cabin was well decorated, and warmed with a space heater. Along the route up the Mountain, there are lots of little shops and a few restaurants. She assured us we'd be picked up soon, and before too much longer her own Grandmother came and picked us up in a golf cart to take us to our cabin. Upon arrival, we parked in the visitor lot at the bottom of the "mountain" and called the number we'd been given for the new owner. I went for a girls' weekend with some friends for some shopping time. when we go back, we won't book with anyone else!!! you get what you pay for!… that was over and above service!!! the beds were so comfy that we didn't want to get out of bed and go shop! we REALLY enjoyed our stay and pampered service. she also came and picked us up in her own vehicle when we got stranded trying to take the trolley back. despite less expensive quotes I decided to book with the palm due mainly to all the positive feedback, and boy were we glad! lucille was johnny on the spot to pick up up from our room or at the bottom of the "mountain" and cart us up or down it. the villa 2 we rented was $60 per person per night. sent lots of emails, got lots of quotes from $80 to $120 - a lot of places charge per person per night. the trip was last minute and I wasn't sure what would be available. I quickly realised I could stay in a b&b cheaper than a hotel. and super service!!! mom and I were looking for lodging for first Monday trade days. Great room, super clean, pretty decor, cold AC, ceiling fan, VERY comfy bed and luxury beddings! micro, coffeepot and small fridge. Still, on our next visits we will likely try other lodging venues to see if our experience is better.… The charm and color of Canton and The Mountain made the few inconveniences mentioned above temporary distractions to an otherwise highly enjoyable visit to the area. Canton is a very small town full of mom-and-pop family-owned businesses, with a down-home, casual feel. Price we paid was reasonable - $60 per person, minimum $120 per unit. We were comfortable walking most of the time, and staff very accommodating with rides otherwise. A couple of things were missing you would typically expect of lodging - in one room, about half of the lamps were missing bulbs making the room dark - these were provided after a phone call requesting them no maid service, tho plenty of towels provided so not really missed and no access by car to the rooms - on The Mountain, only foot traffic is allowed, so you park nearby, and guests and luggage are ferried to and from room by golf cart which necessitates calling staff each time you want to go somewhere unless you are comfortable walking a short distance up and down a hill. One of the guests was reasonably comfortable on the couch with bedding provided upon request after arrival. Also, despite lengthy phone conversation and assurances to the contrary, a room, reserved for two and expected to have a queen and a pull-out sleeper couch, had instead a queen and a regular couch. Oddly, one room (Purple room) had no place to stash clothing - no armoire, hangers, closet, etc. Cell reception was good so Internet accessible by cell network. We were told they "probably" had Wi-Fi but weren't sure. No TV-DVD players in rooms, despite website info to the contrary. Palms Cabana rooms we stayed in (Zebra and Purple Rooms) are small but comfortable with fun, themed decor. Also beside Old Mill Marketplace flea market/gift shop complex. Great access to First Monday Trade Days by free trolley. The location is great, on The Mountain, a unique area with great personality, cool gift shops, a cluster of small B&Bs including Palms, and fun old-Western-town-themed displays. Just instant oatmeal and reg coffee provided until follow-up calls secured other items which were very good. We requested muffins, instant oatmeal, and regular and decaf coffee. Upon request, packaged breakfast items can be left in your room.
